Sobotka Scores Fourth Win of Season at Brewerton; Paddock Flips, Points Shake Up
The CRSA Sprint Tour made its stop at Brewerton Speedway on Friday night, and the action did not disappoint. Fans were treated to high drama, a heated late-race battle, and a shake-up in the championship standings.
Sobotka Stays Hot
Zach Sobotka continued his stellar 2025 campaign by driving to his fourth victory of the season. The local standout showed patience early before taking control of the race and holding off heavy pressure in the closing laps. The win not only added to his season tally, but also vaulted him into the CRSA points lead.
Scary Moment for Points Leader
The biggest story of the night came in the opening stages when Dillon Paddock, who entered the night as the championship leader, endured a violent flip in turns one and two. The incident brought the crowd to its feet in concern, but thankfully Paddock emerged uninjured. While he walked away, the crash was costly to his title hopes. The DNF handed the points lead to Sobotka as the CRSA heads into the final stretch of racing.
As the laps wound down, Jordan Hutton mounted a thrilling charge. With just a few circuits remaining, Hutton closed rapidly on Sobotka, searching for a way past but despite his efforts, Hutton couldn’t make the winning move stick. He settled for a strong runner-up finish.
Podium Finishers
Behind the front duo, Johnny Smith ran a steady and consistent race, even leading a few laps early, to lock down the final spot on the podium in third.
What’s Next
The Brewerton stop reshuffles the championship picture in dramatic fashion. With Sobotka now on top and Paddock looking to rebound, the stage is set for a thrilling run to the finish. Every lap will matter as the CRSA Sprint Tour barrels into its next showdown at Ransomville Speedway.
